Starting With The
Ancestors of William Price
William Price was born 1797 in Kentucky. He married Rachel Dunn in Kentucky by whom he fathered seven children that we are aware of. The family migrated from Kentucky to Indiana, where at least three children were born, then traveled on to settle in Texas. We know William was in Red River County, Texas by 1836. The Mystery is, who was William's father? There are many persons who have helped to compile this research. I wanted to thank these descendants and everyone who have donated their time and research, by creating this web site. 1. WILLIAM1 PRICE was born December 1797 in Harrison Co., Kentucky, and died February 20, 1875 in Waco, McLennan Co., Texas. William married RACHEL DUNN February 27, 1818 in Harrison County, Kentucky, daughter of BENAJAH DUNN and SARAH HARROD. She was born Abt. 1795 in Harrison County, Kentucky.

i. ANDREW JACKSON PRICE, b. 1819, Scott or Harrison Co., Kentucky; d. Kaufman Co., Texas; m. LOUISA KELLY, June 10, 1851, Bastrop County, Texas; b. 1830, Humphreys County, Tennessee; d. Abt. 1875, Winona, Smith Co., Texas.
ii. JOHN SWINFORD PRICE, b. December 16, 1825, Nelson County, Kentucky; d. May 14, 1886, McLennan Co., Texas; m. SARAH JANE HALLOWAY, October 03, 1855, Smith Co., Texas; d. May 10, 1910, McLennan Co., Texas.
iii. JUSTICE DUNN PRICE, b. 1826 Indiana, d. 1909, Near Sinton, Texas; m. MARTHA ELEANOR BRUTON, Abt. 1848, Unknown; b. 1829, Illinois.
iv. WILLIAM L. PRICE, b. Abt. 1829. The only reference found was on a 1840 tax list from Red River county, Texas that included William, Rachel, Jd, JS and Wm L. age 11 years. It gave ages but not birth place. (Need help)
v. JAMES H. PRICE, b. Abt. 1831, Indiana; d. Abt. 1860 Mclennan county, Texas; m. MARGARET SOPHIA LINDSEY, October 06, 1853, Smith Co., Texas.
vi. LAVINIA ANN ELIZABETH PRICE, b. May 16, 1837 Indiana, d. July 28, 1871, near Comanche county, Texas; m. THOMAS NEEL March 10, 1859, Smith county, Texas, b. 1834 Tennessee, d. Comanche county, Texas
